The wonderful and terrible thing about the reality of our trash in America is that it's so convenient. What we don't want, we simply throw away. Of course, we often forget that "away" is somewhere. We may forget about our trash once we put it in the bin for the garbage truck to pick up each week. But all that waste has to go somewhere.
Where is "away"?
Away, of course, is somewhere. And this short video reminds us that all trash has to go somewhere to be sorted, dumped, or dealt with: (click here if you can't see the video)
Quite eye opening, huh? Lessening our garbage footprint is the best thing we can do in order to put a stop to our waste problem. Reuse as much as possible, don't buy something if you don't need it, and as a last resort, recycle, recycle, recycle.
"Away" is somewhere, but hopefully we can each do our part to make sure "away" isn't so full of garbage.
