While Millennials (also known as Generation Y) volunteer in very high rates, it looks like they may not be as eco-conscious as their parents or grandparents. A new study shows that Baby Boomers (in their youth) were more concerned about the environment than young people are today.
Here's an analysis from USA Today and another one from Grist if you want to wade into the stats and details.
And while we could point generational fingers, we'd instead like to remind you of two important things:
- Caring for the environment is a worthy task that anyone of any age could and should take on.
- Groups that can work across generational lines to care for the planet should be applauded.
So, instead of worrying about who cares more, we challenge you to team up with someone older or younger and see what kind of good you can do for Mother Earth (she's timeless, you know).
What about you?
Are you involved in any intra-generational groups that care for the planet? If so, tell us about them in the comments below.
