This isn't our first rodeo with B. toys. We've been fans of this eco-friendly and inspiring toy company since we mentioned the good work they were doing by reducing the waste created by toy packaging. With great environmental concerns and initiatives like this, certainly their toys would be fun, too, right?
Right.
I recently had a chance to take a whirl (along with my daughter) with their Take It Easel.
Sent with minimal packaging (what little packaging there was all was recyclable) and handy reminders about the company's mission, the easel has two magnetic sides. One is an erasable whiteboard; the other is a chalkboard. The markers included were non-toxic, of course, and the toy itself is very versatile:
- There's a handle on top for easy carrying
- The magnetic surfaces fold open to become a tabletop easel
- And, a handy tray holds markers and other art supplies inside
My daughter (who is not quite two-years-old) immediately was drawn to the vibrant colors and wanted to play. We spent a lot of time putting magnets on and taking them off. We played. We colored. We knocked the easel over and it was no worse for the wear.
I'm glad to see companies that don't simply have an environmental passion or commitment. I like it when they also make outstanding products that get attention. When companies like B. toys deliver quality toys (with real value) then those outside of the environmental conversation come for the toys and stay for the message.
And, in addition to its environmental commitment, B. toys is also committed to helping kids in poverty. For every purchase made, B. toys makes a donation to Free the Children.
It's easier than ever to change the Christmas conversation with your kids from one of consumption to one of coolness thanks to B. toys.
