Earth Day at the Gardens 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The largest Earth Day celebration in the state, the 12th annual Earth Day at The Gardens will be held on April 26, 2009, rain or shine. Please gather up the family to join us in celebrating our natural world.
The event includes free hands-on activities for all age groups including a scavenger hunt to learn about nature and the environment around us, recycled art projects, painting canvas bags, building pine cone bird feeders and making seed magnets. Entertainment includes local bands. All these activities are provided by over 60 non-profit environmentally- focused organizations to help us all learn about Alabama’s natural resources, its plants and animals, and the important environmental issues facing our communities. Leading local experts highlight what is being done to protect, conserve, and treasure our land, water, and air, so bring your curiosity and questions.
