Symphony in the Park is one of Knoxville's most unique and longstanding traditions. The event, which began in 1985, features the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra performing outdoors against a backdrop of natural beauty at Ijams Nature Center. The evening is the highlight of the fall social calendar and attracts 400+ prominent guests who enjoy gourmet fare and bidding on fabulous auction items.

This year's special guest artist is three time Grammy award winner, Ashley Cleveland. Ashley's most recent Grammy was received in 2008 for Best Rock Gospel Album, Before the Daylight's Shot. Additionally, this year's special guest of honor is Christine "Teenie" Hayworth for her many dedicated years of service and support of Ijams Nature Center.

Proceeds from Symphony in the Park will provide funding for Ijams' environmental education programs and maintenance of the nature park.
