Don't Drive Distracted

Texting and driving is a serious issue, yet we still continue to send people messages, check email, and try to dial phone numbers while driving. Many studies have shown that just taking our attention off the road for as few as two seconds can result in an accident. But why can't we stop?

Watch this video where a driving instructor asks students to text and drive. While humorous, it shows just how difficult it is for anyone to text and drive:

What will it take you to stop texting and driving? For starters, make a promise to your friends and family that you'll stop trying to multitask behind the wheel. Ask them to take the same pledge. Then, put your phone in your glove box or under the seat when you're behind the wheel. Do your part to keep everyone safe.

As the video shows, when we try to do two things at once, we end up doing neither of them well.
