If you're taking a trip (over the river and through the woods) to grandma's in the next few weeks, make sure to cancel your newspaper delivery subscription (if you still get one). While you may want to catch up on the local news when you return, that's a lot of paper that need not be sent your way. In addition to being a sign that no one's home, you'll also be helping the planet by being one less home that a delivery person's car needs to idle in front of while he tosses your morning news into your shrubs.
