Prematurity

Premature birth, infant mortality and high-risk pregnancy - all are critical needs to be addressed in the U.S. (Click here to see where your state ranks.) According to the Journal of Early Intervention, one of the most effective ways to decrease infant mortality and premature birth is education and support through peer counseling. If you want to impact birth outcomes in a positive manner, find an organization near you that provides peer counseling to families in medical crisis and has volunteer opportunities available.
