Bike to Work

Ride your bike to work - or somewhere else this weekend.

Many communities are encouraging their residents to bike to work today. Why? Maybe if you see how easy, fun and green it is, you'll do it more than once a year. We agree. Just last year our friend Jeff wrote about his experiences biking to work. Take a look (part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4) and see what's involved. Or maybe you can be like our pal Austin, who loved biking so much that he started a company so he could stay in his seat all day. Either way, today proves that work and fun can mix.

I love biking to work! It's a great and refreshing feeling to feel the morning breeze before 8 hours of standing behind the counter. It allows me to further on lunch breaks as well. Everyone at work knows me for being the one with the bike, and I've got my own "parking spot" that's even closer than the managers'!
Unlike the guy in the photo please wear a helmet, especially in places like the city with heavy traffic, many obstacles and paved surfaces. Good people get hurt by bad luck, and the coolness of being a person who cares can be marred by the uncoolness of walking into work bleeding and having to ask "where do we keep the bandaids?"
