Swap MeetUp
Save money and reduce consumption by swapping clothes. Even though we all love a new pair of jeans or a shiny new T-shirt, we know we don't always need them. Yet somehow, our closets continue to overflow with belts, socks, hats and pajamas. Give your budget and your wardrobe a break by holding a clothing swap meetup. Gather some friends and tell them to bring clothes they no longer want or wear. After trying on your friends' shirts or coats, donate what's left over. The time you spend to put the event together will pay off as it might finally motivate someone to clean out their closet.

Love hearing everyone's stories about their clothes and it can get a little hectic when the only rule is - The first one to scream "MINE" gets it!! All the clothes that are not picked out by anyone are taken to Goodwill. An awesome time and a great idea! So for each new item you acquire, get rid of an old item (pass it along to someone else, don't just trash it). I started doing this in college and have kept my closet to a reasonable size, though still extravagant by most standards around the world. It was amazing to see all ages participate in it and an article on the cover of the front page of the church newsletter. It's exciting to see a whole group of people collaborate and work together to help those in need! Post a commentYou must be a registered user to post comments. |

This is a great idea! Another similar option is to shop at Goodwill. Take what you no longer wear and pick up something that someone else decided they no longer want to wear. Like they say, "one man's junk is another man's treasure." I've found many wonderful items at our local thrift stores ... plus it is helping others in the process.
