Just some simple ideas to help others elsewhere.

We've warned against the dangers of haphazardly declaring your desire to help Africa without exactly knowing how to do so. But now that you've read up and know a little bit more, we'll lend a hand and highlight some ways to make an impact there:

• Through education and skills training, Project OKURASE addresses the HIV/AIDS crisis in Ghana by empowering women and at-risk or orphaned children.
  
• Photographer Michael Jones is sending money from all his June sales to Kenya.
  
• And, our good friend (and poster designer) Jen Lemen just came back from Rwanda. Read about it on her site.
