5 minutes of caring
Survivor Stories
Listen to the stories of those who lived to tell the tale. Stories are powerful things, and there are many that need telling. Those who have experienced injustice or disease firsthand can offer a compelling version of what it's like to face the unexpected. As such, they can be great resources for those of us looking to learn more about something that needs our attention. Spend 5 minutes today reading a survivor story. Maybe it's someone who lived through the Holocaust or the tsunami. Maybe it's someone who beat cancer or another illness. Or maybe it's someone who's been victimized. Hear their story and resolve to share it with someone else.

I read a story in today's paper about a man from Alabama who donated a kidney to a man from South Carolina. It made me proud to see the attention to organ and tissue donation! The recipients really are survivors.
